Viene dándose desde hace tiempo, en forma paulatina, y casi que imperceptiblemente para las desatentas mayorías. Ha alcanzado a funcionarios de alta jerarquía de los poderes del Estado, y parecería que no le quita el sueño a una cada vez más “desmerecida clase política”. En los albores de la era frenteamplista asomaban los primeros síntomas de corrupción, con el ex director de Casinos Juan Carlos Bengoa procesado por delitos de fraude, concusión (coimas) y conjunción del interés privado con el público. Poco después, en un acontecimiento que sólo la psicología social explica, el otrora sedicioso tupamaro José Mujica, individuo sin formación alguna y carente de la más mínima capacidad para el gobierno y la administración devino en presidente de la República. “El Pepe” acuñaría la tristemente célebre frase: “lo político está por encima de lo jurídico”, y bajo su sombra despuntaría la corrupción estatal. La indecente subasta de los aviones de PLUNA, por la que el ministro de economía, Cr. Calloia, y el presidente del BROU, Ec. Lorenzo, fueron procesados por el delito de “abuso innominado de funciones”; los misteriosos vuelos provenientes de Argentina y Venezuela trayendo valijas cargadas de dólares; el diputado Placeres (MPP) procesado por un delito de «conjunción de intereses», al votar cínicamente préstamos para “Envidrio”, la empresa que dirigía; Nicolás Cendoya, acusado por «destrucción de documentos públicos», e imputado por los delitos de «filtración de información» y “habilitación irregular de frecuencias radiales”; la pérdida de un escáner que venia para la D.N.A y se cayó de la grúa que lo descargaba; el ignominioso negociado y vergonzoso despilfarro de los dineros públicos en “Gas Sayago”; y las toneladas de cocaína que, cada tanto, salen del puerto de Montevideo rumbo a Europa sin control alguno, son una muestra del obsceno uso ilícito del poder; en buen romance llamado corrupción. Capítulo aparte merece el asunto “Raúl Sendic Rodríguez” quien, respaldado por sus estudios de genética humana cursados en Cuba, y con aptitudes para el gobierno similares a las de su padrino político, presidiría el directorio de ANCAP, llegando a ser vicepresidente de la república. Su mala suerte llevó a que una investigación periodística lo acusara de arrogarse un título académico que no poseía, así como de haber cometido los delitos de abuso de funciones y peculado, durante su gestión en la empresa estatal de combustibles. Tardaría seis meses para renunciar a su cargo – por problemas personales -, durante los cuales la clase política guardó prudente silencio… El haber falseado a su compañero de fórmula, a sus pares parlamentarios y a sus gobernados, así como haber malversado los dineros públicos, pareciera no fueron motivo suficiente para haberlo enjuiciado políticamente. Luego aparece en escena Charles Carrera, un alto funcionario del ministerio del Interior que, en su afán de lavar conciencias y evitar consecuencias políticas y jurídicas no deseables para su cartera y su partido político, se serviría de procedimientos ilícitos para que un ciudadano civil recibiera atención integral en el hospital Policial, y concurrentemente un “apoyo financiero” indebido. Más acá en el tiempo Luis Lacalle Pou, aquel hombre joven, inteligente y vigoroso, que prometía hacerse cargo de los cambios que se imponían en el país, fue erigido presidente de la República.
Pero Luis cometería su primer e imperdonable error, designando como integrante de su equipo de seguridad a un correligionario de su confianza que registraba una veintena de “indagatorias” policiales, pese – y aquí lo de imperdonable – a haber sido alertado por el ministro del Interior, al respecto. El asunto “Astesiano”, en el que éste resulta condenado a prisión por la expedición de pasaportes uruguayos falsos a ciudadanos rusos y además es acusado de tráfico de influencias y manejo ilegal de información reservada, provocó tal impacto en la opinión pública, que mantuvo en jaque al gobierno, afectando negativamente la imagen: del gobierno, del Estado y de nuestro país. Asimismo, resultó dañada la figura del presidente, pues si bien el hecho de corrupción no lo compromete directamente, el haberse generado en su entorno muy cercano despierta suspicacias legítimas, y por demás entendibles. En esas esferas no hay lugar para discrecionalidades, ni para excepciones de ningún tipo. Fue una imprudencia inaceptable, para un primer mandatario. Luego sobrevino el caso “Marset”, un reconocido narcotraficante al que nuestro gobierno le expide un pasaporte mientras purgaba una pena de prisión en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. Las peculiaridades de un confuso trámite administrativo, generaron recelos y desconfianzas, de todo tipo y a todos los niveles. Pero el broche de oro lo puso el manejo político, por parte del Ejecutivo, una vez que tomó estado público e intervino la justicia. Entredichos, mentiras y acusaciones cruzadas entre jerarcas ministeriales, tejieron un oscuro manto de intrigas que terminó envolviendo a los ministros y viceministros de RR.EE e Interior, a altas jerarquías policiales, a un asesor presidencial de primera línea, y sea por acción u omisión, al propio presidente de la República. En relación a ello, es alarmante el proceder del canciller Bustillo al decirle a la Dra. Carolina Ache – su viceministra, su subalterna jerárquica – que el subsecretario de Interior “era un tarado”, y al sugerirle “que perdiese su celular”, a los efectos de que la justicia no contara con pruebas que pudiesen llegar a comprometerla… Una conducta ciertamente desdeñable, que revela la improbidad del señor Bustillo para ejercer un cargo de esa naturaleza. Es igualmente alarmante, aunque por su especialidad en el manejo de la opinión pública quizás resulte menos sorprendente, el papel representado por el asesor en comunicación del señor presidente, Roberto Lafluf, en esta novela. De hecho, la desesperación por contener un inminente desastre político, lo llevó a convocar a los subsecretarios de RR.EE e Interior a una reunión en la mismísima Torre Ejecutiva, no sin antes advertirles que “entrasen por el fondo”, a fin de mantener la reserva del encuentro… Y allí los instó a borrar los “mensajes comprometedores”, para que no constaran en las investigaciones – administrativa y judicial – que se llevaban a cabo. Asimismo, tuvo la insolencia de comunicarle a la viceministra Ache, que él ya había destruido el acta notarial foliada en el expediente de la investigación administrativa que elevara oportunamente RR.EE, por lo que le sugería “hacer una nueva acta notarial” – falsa -, con otro escribano. En efecto, la imaginaria escena insinúa más un conciliábulo de malhechores de baja reputación, reunidos en un depósito de papeles húmedo y maloliente, para destruir pruebas y ensayar coartadas ante un interrogatorio policial, que una reunión de señores ministros de Estado en casa de gobierno.
¿Y qué decir del señor presidente de la república? Bueno, consultado por la prensa sobre si tenía conocimiento de la reunión, contestó “que había pasado a saludar” … A todos los efectos, si mandató o consintió la maniobra, da igual… Así pues, esto viene sucediendo en el cerno del Poder Ejecutivo, y tienen como protagonistas a los más altos funcionarios del gobierno. Nuestro sistema de justicia, el Poder Judicial y la fiscalía general de la Nación, no queda atrás, dado que viene siendo objeto de debate público, y no precisamente por cosas buenas: filtraciones de información reservada, traslados discrecionales de funcionarios que casualmente conducen casos relevantes, faltas de criterio y de lucidez inconcebibles en profesionales que tienen la responsabilidad, ni más ni menos que de administrar justicia… Los juicios por DD.HH a los militares dejaron ver magistrados obedientes y manifiestamente militantes del Socialismo del S.XXI. Y detrás de un fiscal de corte Jorge Diaz, que en términos jurídicos hizo lo que quiso en contra de sus “enemigos” – los militares -, y a favor de sus “amigos” – casos Feldman, Charles Carrera, Leal y otros -, aparecieron nuevos jueces y fiscales igualmente trasgresores, como Mariana Motta, Mirtha Guianze y ahora Ricardo Perciballe, quienes al decir de la fiscal Fossati conforman “la manada”… Ahora, de un tiempo a esta parte, dejando la política de lado y pasando a “otras ideologías”, así como al crimen organizado, últimamente se han dado casos en que, si bien aún no existen pruebas de prevaricación y/o connivencia con la delincuencia, sí hay evidencias de mala fe, o de una alarmante incompetencia profesional. Por su parte, el Poder Legislativo, el que realmente tiene el poder de cambiar las cosas legislando, exhibe un notorio decaimiento del nivel de educación terciaria de los legisladores – diputados 48% y senadores 55% – y, consecuentemente de los debates parlamentarios y de la producción legislativa, al fin. En conclusión, esto es una fotografía del funcionamiento de los pilares del Estado, y en los tres se verifican actos innobles, contrarios a la rectitud de ánimo, honestidad e integridad en el obrar. Virtudes que se espera posean los políticos que la ciudadanía elige para conducir los destinos del país, y los burócratas que éstos designan para ocupar los cargos públicos de relevancia institucional. Las causas: la exigua educación ética y moral en la familia, el deterioro del proceso de enseñanza en todos sus niveles, la inexistencia de cultura cívica ciudadana y la inveterada costumbre de los políticos de realizar nombramientos, más por relaciones partidarias, personales o familiares, que por competencia profesional y probidad. Sus consecuencias: la pérdida de credibilidad en el Estado y en las instituciones públicas, el debilitamiento del Estado de derecho, y la desconfianza de la ciudadanía en el sistema democrático. La solución: exigirles a los políticos que aspiran a gobernarnos, ser poseedores – ellos y los burócratas mencionados -, las cualidades éticas, morales e intelectuales, así como el compromiso, que hacen a un gobernante con mayúscula. Gobernante que, por supuesto, puede y ha de cometer errores, pero nunca ha de justificarlos. El jefe, es absoluto responsable por lo bueno y por lo malo que en su ámbito, se haga o se deje de hacer…

A recently discovered comet, known as C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS, will make its closest approach of Earth on Saturday. Sky-gazers won’t want to miss the event since it may be the last time the comet will be seen in the night sky for another 80,000 years.
The comet successfully reached perihelion, its closest point to the sun in its orbital path around the parent star, on September 27, and was visible for those in the Southern Hemisphere in September and early October. Now, the icy body is on its way out of the inner solar system and will be visible to those in the Northern Hemisphere in mid-October through early November, according to NASA.
On Saturday, the comet will come within about 44 million miles (nearly 71 million kilometers) of Earth. The comet is making its first documented flyby of our planet, according to NASA. With its 80,000-year orbit, the celestial body would have been last seen from Earth at the time of the Neanderthals.
Those looking to catch a glimpse of the once-in-a-lifetime event will want to look in the western part of the night sky, shortly after sunset, according to EarthSky.
The comet will look like a bright fireball in the dark sky with a long, extended tail. Bill Cooke, lead of NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, recommends a pair of binoculars for enhanced viewing of the comet.
“It’s not going to zing across the sky like a meteor. It will just appear to hang there, and it will slowly change position from night to night,” Cooke said. “If you can see (the comet) with your unaided eye, (using) the binoculars will knock your socks off.”

When many of us hear the “Fall Classic,” we automatically think of baseball’s World Series. I’m not sure that will be the case for future generations.
Yes, I’m being somewhat provocative with that line, but the WNBA Finals have arrived on the heels of what can only be described as a historic season for the league. Across a metric of statistics, it’s clear that America’s interest in the WNBA is at the highest point this century in large part because of Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.
Let’s start simple: Google searches. They’ve been higher this WNBA season, starting with the draft in April, than at any point since we’ve had data (2004). Searches for the WNBA are up over 300% compared to last season, up over 850% compared to five seasons ago, and have risen nearly 1,400% from a decade ago.
That is, the WNBA has been rising, and this year it really took off.
This interest has translated into revenue for the league. Attendance is up a staggering 48% from 2023. There wasn’t a single team with an average regular season home attendance of five figures (10,000+) in 2023. This season, there were six.
Leading the charge was Clark’s Fever. A little more than 4,000 people attended their average game in 2023, which ranked them second to last. This season, more than 17,000 did, a 319% rise that put them far and away ahead of any other WNBA team and ahead of five NBA teams, including the hometown Indiana Pacers.
We see the same pattern in merchandise. Sales are up 600% from last year. This includes the boost from rookie sensations Clark, who had the best-selling jersey, and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky, who had the second-best-selling jersey.

When my friends and I walked into homeroom on the first day of school this year, my teacher told all of us to put our phones in a black plastic box on an old desk by the classroom door.
Handing over our phones during class is an official school policy, and my teachers always make this announcement at the beginning of the school year. But teachers would usually forget about the box by third period on the first day, never to be mentioned again by the second day of school. This year, however, the policy stuck that entire first day — and every day since.
I asked my Latin teacher why the school was suddenly getting so strict on phones. It turns out that over the summer most of the teachers had read social psychologist Jonathan Haidt’s book “The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness.”
Haidt, the Thomas Cooley Professor of Ehtical Leadership at New York University Stern School of Business, argues that a phone-based childhood leads to mentally unhealthy kids who are unprepared for life and, in my Latin teacher’s words, it “really freaked us out.” Teachers were serious about taking our phones now.
It’s not just causing trouble at my school. Some 72% of public high school teachers in the United States say that cell phone distraction among their students is a major problem, according to a study published by the Pew Research Center in April. In high schools that already have cell phone policies, 60% of teachers say that the policies are very or somewhat difficult to enforce, the same study reported.
Several states have passed laws attempting to restrict cell phone use in schools, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom recently signed legislation requiring school districts to regulate cell phone use. At least seven of the 20 largest school districts in the nation have either banned phones during the school day or plan to do so.

“I would say it’s somewhat unusual in the number of outbursts it’s been having,” Schleicher said. “On the other hand, it’s not like you have good records from the past to really let you know what is typical. В компании он проработал 10 лет – его с самого начала приняли как родного: приняли в семью, которую представлял собой коллектив «Лайф-из-Гуд». Василенко оплатил операцию на сердце его отцу. Алексей Комаров за это отплатил черной неблагодарностью, оговорив абсолютно всех.

Захватил чужую квартиру и машину
Роман Василенко дал ему возможность бесплатно жить в трехкомнатной квартире одного из своих родственников и пользоваться корпоративным минивэном.
Эту квартиру Комаров незаконно использует до сих пор – сдает ее в аренду. А корпоративный минивэн присвоил.
Бывший бандит
Спустя несколько лет после трудоустройства выяснилось, что Комаров в 1990-е годы работал на преступную группировку Малышева. С этих пор ему стали давать только мелкие поручения, не связанные с материальными ценностями.
Сейчас он выслуживается перед органами внутренних дел, чтобы его не привлекли за старые преступления – сроки давности по которым еще не прошли.

Комаров тайно записывал информацию в машине и офисе – на видеокамеру и с помощью жучков, а потом передал ее следствию.
Например, он скрытой камерой снял передачу денег Романом Василенко за участие одной из звезд в форуме «Синергия» – с этих денег были уплачены налоги. Он ставил жучки, чтобы записывать разговоры – и следователи могли монтировать высказывания, вырывая их из контекста.
Оговорил невиновных
По его вине девять ни в чем неповинных людей сидят в тюрьме. Например, на очной ставке с Анной Высоцкой он прямо в глаза ей, бывшему контент-менеджеру сайта «Лайф-из-Гуд», к тому же уволившемуся более чем за полгода до начала уголовного дела, рассказывал, что все время привозил и передавал ей наличные деньги. На вопрос адвоката, почему ей, а не в бухгалтерию, не смог ответить – даже не думал выстроить логичную версию, тем более что следствие готово было покрывать его ложь.
Придется ответить
Комаров – неблагодарная, неграмотная, лживая, алчная, трусливая, вороватая крыса. На основании лжи малограмотного шофера Лехи Комарова, в тюрьме вот уже третий год незаконно без приговора отбывают наказание невинные образованные законопослушные люди.
Комаров понимает, что ответит за свои преступления – потому и боится появляться в суде. Но скрыться у него не получится: за преступления придется ответить в самое ближайшее время
